Slo Poks at St. Baldrick's Children's Cancer Carnival

On Thursday May 23rd was the St. Baldrick's Children Cancer fund raiser.  There were activities for the kids, but the highlight was the sponsored head shaving.  Your standard issue Pok. . .well, shaved head wasn't really a big deal.  There was a good turnout of Slo Poks for the car show to add to the carnival.  Tons of Jr. High kids got to see and chat with the guys about their hot rods.  Many got to sit in them too. The St. Baldrick's Car Show Champion trophy was up for grabs with the kid's choice vote.  Apparently the kids are very well educated at Cascade Middle School as their pick was my Cyclone CJ 428.  It was very humbling and a huge surprise to get the pick.
The weather was like it was special ordered for the event.  Cloudy morning, but killer 80' sunny weather in the afternoon, then back to rain on Friday.
Thanks to all of the guys that took their afternoon to make the carnival something really special

The hot rods were lined up on the track. . .it was really hard to not want to do some dirt track style cornering!

  1. As one of the organizers of the event, I can't thank you all enough. The kids LOVED your cars. With your help, we were able to raise $20,000 to help fund research for childhood cancers. We would love to have you back again next year.
